I bought Tomb Raider Legend because I had a bad craving to play the original Tomb Raider. I have the original Tomb Raider game somewhere along with the original Playstation, but after moving half way across the country, I have no idea where that somewhere might be. So I broke down and bought the newest Tomb Raider game for the Xbox 360. Since recent Tomb Raider games have been a disappointment compared to the first one, I was afraid that this one might not be so great and I'd have to resume the hunt for my lost Playstation.

I was absolutely not disappointed. If you loved the original Tomb Raider, you should definitely get your hands on a copy of Tomb Raider Legend. The game play is very similar to the great game play that was in the first Tomb Raider game and at the same time has been improved upon. The best improvement is that you no longer have to press a button when you want Lara to grab onto a ledge, it is automatic. You merely have to be in the right place.

I think the graphics are excellent, but then again, I'm not that picky when it comes to graphics so maybe you shouldn't take my word for it. I think that if your judgment of a game hinges on whether or not the graphics are the best thing ever, you should re-examine why you play games in the first place. I'm not saying that the graphics should be ignored, but many seem to have their rating for a game revolve around the graphics.

Before I bought the game I read quite a few reviews and many people were complaining that the game was too short. I think that the game is of a decent length. Of course, I work a full time job making video games, so I don't have hours upon hours to sit around playing them. I suppose if you do nothing but play video games all day long, then you might be able to work your way through the game in a short period of time. If you don't have much time to play, a game like Tomb Raider Legend may be the perfect game for you. It is easy to not play it for a few days and then come back to it without wondering what you were trying to accomplish.

Another great thing about this game is that you can replay levels without losing your place in the game. If you have missed finding a reward, you can go back to any level you have finished at any point. And you don't have to finish the level to return to where you were either. If you decide you don't really feel like playing through the level, simply save and then load the game you just saved. You'll be taken to where you were in the latest level that you haven't yet completed. And when you finish playing through a previous level, you will resume your game where you left off, and any additional rewards that you found will be added to what you have. And on that note, you don't have to find all the rewards in a level again, just the ones that you missed.

I also love the soundtrack. The music is very good and does not distract from the game play. There is nothing worse than annoying music while you are trying to concentrate on playing a game.

And perhaps the best thing about Tomb Raider Legend is the fact that it is one of the lower priced games for the Xbox 360 and so you won't have to dish out much money for it. It is less than half of the original price on Amazon and you may find it used for even less at your local video game store. I would definitely recommend buying this game.
