Review of Tommy Bahama's Tropical Cafe Restaurant in Sarasota, Florida

For most restaurants in Florida, seafood is what they are all about. As I have explored different seafood restaurants I have discovered there is a fine line between the good fish restaurants and the fabulous ones. Tommy Bahama's restaurant located on John Ringling Blvd John serves in my opinion some of the greatest seafood in the Sarasota area.

For the most part, the service at Tommy Bahama's is good. The waiters are friendly and you can usually walk right in and get a table or a seat at the bar. But depending on what day it is and when you eat can also make a difference in the service you get. On the weekends Tommy Bahama's can be packed and it can take you a while to get any service, even a table. It is best to call ahead on the weekends if you're planning to eat at dinnertime.

The setting at Tommy Bahama's is nice and the dress is casual. They have inside seating as well as outside. When I go to eat at Tommy Bahama's I usually prefer to go inside. However, it can be chilly inside so I would suggest you bring a sweater. There is a nice breeze that blows through the outside but there aren't any great views. The outside is mostly for smokers. Another reason I prefer the inside is because of the live music. They usually have live music in the evenings. You can also check out the Tommy Bahama's store downstairs which sells Tommy Bahama's clothes and other gifts.

The prices at Tommy Bahamas are pretty high but the food there is worth it. The price of entrée dishes usually goes from ten to thirty five dollars. There crab cakes are one of their most famous dishes. I have been to Tommy Bahama's many times and have had almost had every dish on both their lunch and dinner menu. There are so many dishes that I would recommend for people to have. I think though if I had to decide what my favorite dish is, I would choose the Guadeloupe Mahi. The dish is a deliciously grilled Mahi-Mahi with sweet soy sauce glaze. When I took my friends there for their first time I asked one of them what they thought of it. She told me, "This place has great food and is very nice." They all said they would come back the next time we go out to eat. Tommy Bahama's is perfect for couples or families to have a nice meal.
