Review- Trimline Recovery Collar

An Alternative to the Traditional Plastic E-Collar

Kelli Perez
Thanks to social networking, Dana Humphrey's from Trimline, Inc. contacted me via LinkedIn to review the Trimline Recovery Collar. I was excited to try a different e-collar. My dogs are not happy to wear the large, plastic e-collar and I hoped the Trimline Recovery Collar would be more comfortable for them.

E-collars are used as a barrier to prevent your dog or cat from licking their wounds. My dogs have cut their paw pads and will lick their injury forever. The licking prevents the wound from healing. Another time I put the collar on my dogs is when their leg has been shaved. The vet will shave their leg to put in an IV when they get their teeth cleaned. My dogs will lick the shaved area until it is raw and red preventing the hair from growing back. The e-collar is something I use different times throughout the year, so it is nice to be able to have a Trimline collar.

After receiving the Trimline collar, the first thing I noticed was how compact it is. When you are not using it the collar folds up and can be stored in a closet or drawer. The plastic e-collars do not fold and do not fit in a drawer. Another great aspect about the Trimline collar is its flexibility. It folds and is soft whereas the plastic e-collar is stiff and hard for my dogs to move around the house when wearing it.

All three of my dogs wore the Trimline collar for a half an hour. They didn't mind wearing the collar and didn't run away from me when I went to put it on them. I chose the 9 ½" size collar and it fit all three of my dogs. They have different neck sizes ranging from 18" to 22". It was nice that one collar fit all of them.

The Trimline collar is a better alternative to the traditional, plastic e-collars. They are compact and affordable. For the 9 ½" collar, the cost is only $12.60. This is cheaper than the plastic e-collars that cost $21.99!
