When I heard from my wife that Bandini new tv soap has started, my initial reaction was Bandini? a new brand of sari, then next I thought Bandini (the Indian meaning prisoner) which made me to sit in front of TV and to watch the NDTV Imagine serial "Bandini". From the very first episode started watching and as on the serial progressed my interest double folded. At no chance I wanted to miss any episode. I felt this is the best Soap of 2009 on Indian TV.

Main Plot- Review of TV serial - Bandini
The main character of the Serial Dharamaraj Mahayavansi (Ronit Roy) is a diamond merchant and he had established a village where his workers reside and called as Dharampur. He is a widower with 5 children eldest Son being 25 years and the youngest 5 years. Other members of his family are his eldest sister Tarulata and his old mother-in and father-in-law. He is well respected in his village as well as by the society at large. He has big moustache which he always twitches with it. He is learned, intelligent, clever but not educated, speaks in native tongue Gujarati.

His business rival is his own co-son -in -law whom he calls as shadu-bhai, is also a diamond merchant.

In order to create rift in the workers his co-son -in -law tries to with held a groom in a marriage function, which is attended by Dharamaraj. In order to help and save his worker's prestige and win their confidence, he marries that poor village girl who is younger to him by three times . His young bride called Santu played by Aasiya Kazi.

This serial is produced by Balaji production headed by Ekta Kapoor who is well known in Indian TV industry. This serial catches the viewer's attention for its Hindu family traditions and values.

Climax - Review of TV serial - Bandani
The main climax of the TV soap is the high thinking, timely actions, and correct judgment by this young girl who tries to solve the problems faced by Dharamaraj and his family. Initially no one likes this girl in his family and she is confined to servant quarters, though she is the legal wedded wife of Dharamaraj.

With time whole family slowly accepts her and she wins the hearts of the family as well as the viewers.

Why I like this Serial - Review of TV serial - Bandini
This serial is very well directed and depicts Indian culture, tradition and its values. It also captures the viewer by its great acting by all the actors in the soap. Ronit Roy (finally he plays a character of his age) and Santu by her innocent looks.
