Review of the Vizio VW42L 42-inch HD Television

One of the best aspects to me when choosing the Vizio VW42L 42-inch HD Television was the affordability factor. Second had came the picture quality while observing at my local Wal-Mart. The Vizio VW42L's picture quality seemed to be on par with other, much more expensive name brand alternatives in the display area. After looking at the technical specs for the Vizio VW42L 42-inch HD Television, I was pleased to see that it came equipped with plenty of HDMI, Composite, Component and 2 two digital tuners. Multiple inputs are key when hooking up a multiple array of audio and visual devices. The Vizio VW42L 42-inch HD Television also offers a Digital optical Out for Dolby Digital 5.1 output to your capable audio system.

The Vizio VW42L 42-inch HD Television is incredibly easy to handle while in the package due to reinforced handles built into the box. This made life easier while moving from the store and into my home. Assembly of the stand to the screen itself was easy to do with the detailed instructions provided and you are able to mount the Vizio VW42L 42-inch HD Television to the wall easily and securely because of its sturdy construction.

Hooking up my audio and visual accessories was a cinch with clearly marked connections and the arraignment of them allowed for a much cleaner appearance than some comparable makes and brands. Searching for cable and digital OTA channels took less time than a previous Sony projection TV I had owned previously. Sound quality was a shocker considering how small the internal speakers were. The simulated surround sound feature produced a convincing effect in my living room. The only gripe that I have with Vizio VW42L 42-inch HD Television is the inability to control the line level sound output volume going to my home theater receiver through the TV's supplied remote control. Although, if you have a bunch of devices that are remote controlled, it may be a good idea to purchase a universal remote control that can handle all of these devices at once.

It has been a year since my purchase of the Vizio VW42L 42-inch HD Television and I'm proud to say that I have not encountered any issues with the unit. The picture quality and function of the TV is as good as the day that I had bought it. I highly recommend this product for anyone wanting to get the best bang for the buck with their next HDTV purchase.
