Review of Vonage Telephone Service

I used to believe that the former SBC, currently ATT was the best phone service for the price. I was immensely wrong. First of all my bill with SBC was always over $90 with local and unlimited long distance. That was of course with the additional charges including tax, fees, and caller identification. First of all in order to even get phone service with SBC you have to pay a deposit, which is usually every bit of $200. They require that you pay two months service before they will even come turn your phone on. Vonage is completely different. What Vonage basically does is transmit your voice (phone calls) over the internet connection. This does not tie up your internet when you are on the phone, just like it doesn't tie up your phone when you are on the internet. This process is called VoIP or Voice over Internet Protocol.
