Review of VSPink: Victoria Secret for Teens

Quick Look at Merchandise, Price and Value

Wendy Dawn
Don't panic. VSPink is a very innocent store filled with cute P.J's sweats, and slippers for teenage girls. Victoria Secret Pink (VSPink) is considered the #1 loungewear store. Teenage girls are well aware of its existence and popularity. Most would be thrilled with a sweatshirt, cropped sweatpants, overnight bag, or cute under garments from VSPink.

Unlike its adult counterpart, pink does not push sensuality. VSPink is about the comfort and fun of being a girl. Why not? Soft pinks and blues, cute pajamas, and comfy, modest night shirts. Go ahead, pamper her a little bit. VSPink, unlike her sister store Victoria Secret Lingerie takes advantage of its niche market to remind young women that modesty and beauty can complement each other.

Like Victoria Secret Beauty, VSPink moves the focus from sex appeal toward personal feel. Victoria Secret Beauty and VSPink are about the women, or young woman, and how she feels about herself. Here's to Victoria Secret for elevating women beyond a sex object.

Although the Victoria Secret name brand will always carry its sensual stigma, VSPink is a refreshing change. The flip side is that Victoria Secret is developing name brand loyalty in young consumers. That's how capitalism works, and hopefully young ladies who enjoy VPSPink will not allow brand image to control future purchase decisions.

In the meantime, VSPink offers lots of great gift ideas for the teenage girl in your life. Sweat pants start at $30 and can be matched with a tank or cami for $20. Flannel pant and tank P.J. set start at $29.50. Jackets, hoodies, and sweater start at $34.50. VSPink has one classic hoodie style at $25. Others cost as much as $60 for added bling.

Striped scarves with matching mittens start at $19.50. A cute VSPink tote is $15. A rolling overnight bag is over $100.

As a budget wise shopper, I quickly spotted a $19.00 sleep shirt and panties 5 for $25. For homes where name brand is important, I'd look for items like these. (Wouldn't it surprise your teenager for granny's standard gift of undies to be from VSPink? That shock value alone makes VSPink undergarments worth the price!)

VSPink makes you pay for the brand name for which teens have fallen. Quality for quality, Walmart carries similar styled loungewear for half the price. Same quality, same style. It wouldn't surprise me if they weren't made in the same shop in China.

If you plan on shopping at VSPink, print the $10 coupon for VSPink bottoms is available at VSPink.com.

VSPink stores are located in Knoxville, TN and Atlanta, GA. Currently, there is no store locator specifically for VSPink. Check the Victoria Secret stores in your area to find out if they have VSPink or where to find the nearest VSPink. Meanwhile, shop vspink.com.

My 14 year old stepdaughter is comming home from her mom's w/ black lace victoria's secret underwear & $65 dollar VS charges on her debit card; not sure if mom is w/ her when these purchases are made, or if she is doing this w/ friends. In my book black lace is inappropriate for 14; who is she trying to impress? Say something, or drop it?

HA! I loved that your first line was "don't panic" because I already had when I read the title of your piece! Sounds innocent enough though. :) Good review.
