Review: Water Wheel Play Table by Step 2 - Great Toy for Kids in the Summer

Does your child love to play with water outside during the warmer months of the year that are now upon us? My two and a half year old loves to play with water. We found the perfect toy for him, it is the Water Wheel Play Table by Step 2. This play table gives your child a lot of activities to do just with a simple bucket or large cup of water.

Your child can start adding water to the Step 2 Water Wheel Play Table by pouring it into a funnel that goes over a wheel that resembles a wheel you would see on a river boat. He can watch the wheel spin as the water gets distributed to several different reservoirs in the Water Wheel Play Table. Of course these are reservoirs to us, but they are oceans and rivers and even just plain puddles to your child. In these areas of water he can use the toys that come with the Water Wheel Play Table.

Those toys are not anything fancy, but never underestimate the imagination of your child. There are two plastic boats that your child can play with using the Step 2 Water Wheel Play Table in the different sections of the play area. There is also a cup to help him either move the water from one play area to another or to pour the water into the funnel and add more to his play areas in the Water Wheel Play Table.

My son used to love just playing with several buckets of water, but now with the Water Wheel Play Table at least he has something to focus his attention on so he keeps the majority of the water in the Water Wheel Play Table instead of all over him. Of course he will get wet playing with the toy, but then again he is a child and it is to be expected.

As a parent I love the fact of how sturdy the Water Wheel Play Table is, as he tends to play a little rough with his toys. I have only seen him have it topple over once when playing with it, and that is when he intentionally lifted it up and emptied the water out.. For $35 at most retailers this is a toy that will give your child hours of outdoor entertainment instead of being cooped up in the house. As a parent I highly recommend the Step 2 Water Wheel Play Table.
