Wewoka Nursing Center is an exciting and wonderful place for your loved ones to receive the care they need. This is an excellent facility that offers both rehabilitation and skilled nursing services. The nursing center is a 76 bed facility that offers many great reasons to choose as the caregivers for a loved one. The home is located at 1400 West 1st Street in Wewoka, Oklahoma. The facility telephone number is 405-257-3393. All of the staff members are considerate and caring to the residents. The staff is there to help the residents complete their activities of daily living and get them to their best health in the easiest, efficient and best way possible.

The department heads are given in this article for all your needs. Danielle LaClair is the Administrator at the facility. Ray Larimer is the Director of Nursing. Melissa Brooks is the MDS coordinator. Johnnie Henry is in charge of the Admissions and is also the facility Social Worker. Pat Petty is the SDC/Human Resources Director. Ann Remis is the Dietary Coordinator. Ray Vandever is the Housekeeping Supervisor. Cathy Madron is the Rehabilitation Coordinator. Last but not least is Delonna Smalts as the Activity Director. Each of these department heads can serve as a guide to all of your loved ones needs. They are all very friendly and will answer any questions that you may have during any time, such as admission, care, needs, and discharge.

This facility has excellent care for all of a person's needs. There is a resident council, which any resident can join in on. This is a time when they meet and can discuss different items, such as activities, suggestions for items they need or want, and any other item centered on patient care and well being. There are many activities through the day, such as Bingo, Trivia, Men's Club, Women's Club, and a large host of other activities for the residents to participate in. There is also a fairly new and exciting activity that is held once a month for the residents, the Resident Auction. The residents receive play money for coming to activities throughout the month and can then bid on prizes that are donated to and bought by the facility. The residents enjoy this and more have become more active due to this new, fun, and exciting activity. If there is a new resident or one that does not have enough play money to bid, Delonna will give them money to bid with.

My father has been a resident at this facility over two years. His stay at the Wewoka Nursing Center had been one of the best. He enjoys the staff, the facility, and the activities. I have seen my father's outlook on life change immensely since changing facilities. I would personally like to recommend Wewoka Nursing Center for anyone now or in the future. I have worked in many facilities and know about them personally, but I guarantee you that this is one of the best, if not the best. The residents at the facility feel that it is a place where they can call home. July 20th 2007, the facility raised over $700 through an indian taco salad dinner. The money will be used for the resident Christmas fund this year. This is yet another way that the facility shows the residents that they really care. Come check out the facility so you can see for yourself that it is an excellent home.
