For the Wiggles lover in your family, the north suburbs of Dallas opened a Wiggles themed play center. Walk into the Wiggles Play Center and you will see a multilevel tube area with four side by side slides, a bounce house and a toddler area for the smaller members of the family.
The toddler area has soft crawling obstacles and smaller scaled slides. My toddler especially liked stacking the soft geometric shapes into a tower before they crashed down around her. The toddler slide is perfect for the younger kids to gain confidence before they tackle the big slides. The toddler area also has a plasma television playing the Wiggles in one corner. When we were there, some kids were dancing their hearts out.
A bounce house remained mostly empty during our visit, probably because the bigger kids explored the maze of tubes over our heads. There were even a few stray moms and dads called up the soft ramp to join their kids for a trip down the slides. Kids can peer down on their parents and siblings from the high perch through mesh before taking a slide to the ground level, only to start again.
Security in the Wiggly Play Center was the standard type of security for these types of places. Upon entering, I had to surrender my driver's license number to the employee who entered the number in her computer. She also gave my daughter and me matching bracelets with identification numbers. Before we were allowed to leave, the same employee took both of our bracelets and checked them to make sure they matched. The only wrinkle in their system came in the form of a stubborn 2 year old. My daughter decided that she would not wear her bracelet, so she pulled it off. The front desk employee's reaction suggested this was not an uncommon occurrence.
The Yummy Yummy Cafe, located in the rear of the play center, serves not only the usual child's fare of pizza and chicken nuggets but also healthy alternatives like fruit salads. When we went, the fruit salad was wilted and lacking and our companions suggested we stay away from the pizza, however the chicken nuggets seemed to be a hit. The Yummy Yummy Cafe will not be winning any awards for taste, but who goes to the Wiggly Play Center for the food?
All and all, we voted a big yes on the Wiggly Play Center. My daughter passed out in the car on the way home, tired but happy.
Be sure and bring your socks, as they are required for play.

Post a CommentWe just visited Frisco and took our 3 year old son to Wiggles to burn off some energy. He had a blast and we loved taking him there! There were lots of kids his age there, which is what we were looking for, and the adults enjoyed talking, reading and playing with the kids. Great center!
We were disappointed in the Wiggly Play Center. You can go to bounce houses anywhere and watch the Wiggles DVD's at home. We had higher expectations being that this is the first WPC in the USA. We thought some of the characters would have been in costume (Dorothy the Dinosour, Octopus, Dog, etc). Over 20 kids were waiting to play in 2 red cars. Let's just call it a store front playland with TV screens.
