The fact that the conference centers were in the hotel was very nice. The conference centers were clean and respectable. The conference centers have movable walls and can be adjusted to fit your company's needs.
There are approximately 5 floors of rooms at the hotel. There is the "Harvest Grill" restaurant, a sports bar and a convenience store. The Harvest Grill serves a buffet breakfast for about $15, Lunch about the same price. There is no free continental breakfast with the hotel. The sports bar is open at night and they also serve food, I never ate there so I can't talk about the prices. The convenience store is very small and lacking. I was actually disappointed in the store. I wanted to buy some Williamsburg mementos to take home to the children, but all they had were some prints of Colonial Williamsburg.
For recreation the hotel has an indoor - outdoor pool and a fitness center. The pool is open between 0600 and 2300. There is a hot tub located inside along the pool. There is also a water passage between the inside and outside pool. So if you come in the winter, chances are that the indoor pool may not be open for use. The fitness center is small. They have three treadmills, an elliptical, and two stationary bikes. They have dumbbell free weights and 4 weight machines. The fitness center is open 24 hours.
Connecting to the free internet in the lobby was difficult to do. They provide free internet in the lobby for an hour. This was quite an inconvenience. Of course if you wanted to pay $10 a day, you can have internet access in your room. I went for the $10 a day. Hopefully they do not have all these hidden charges like upload fees, bandwidth fees, etc.
The normal hotel rate was $132 US dollars a night. For that I received two queen size beds, a TV with about 30 channels, HBO, a small refrigerator, a microwave, free USA Today newspaper, and the other standard hotel stuff. The beds were extremely comfortable and soft. The rooms could use some redecorating.
Overall the Williamsburg Marriot is not a bad place to stay. I feel that there should be free wireless internet in the hotel that can be accessed by everyone. I also feel that there should be a free continental breakfast, especially for business travelers that are stuck within the confides of the hotel.
