It's always a common theme with a director of James Cameron's caliber that he puts himself into situations that can either make or break him whether it be artistically or a lack of movie funding or may even be the both of them. In today's wretched economy it's really tedious to mess with any unfamiliar grounds your not careful but it's part of Cameron's persona or forte. It can certainly be terrible when you've invested, so much of your hard earned cash on a movie you've created and your not sure if it will end up becoming a successful or profitable movie, that's a question only time can answer, the chance you take when you make a movie.
James's Avatar is certainly the closest that we as humans have ever experienced to the real thing such as extraterrestrial or alien life, since we do end up visiting an alien reality world. It's amazing how beautiful and defined the movies graphics, environments, the different exotic species and how wonderfully made the natives of the planet Pandora experience, since they have all of the exact same senses that we as humans experience from a day to day basis. It's the virtual reality of Avatar which is indeed the real hero in this movie because that alone made this movie all that appealing. It's amazing how much time, effort and dedication that was exerted into making the planet of Pandora that much interesting. I simply don't see any movie in the near future that will overtake the amount of success Avatar had accomplished unless it's James Cameron himself that does so.
The Australian born Sam Worthington (Jake Sully) a new and upcoming actor did way beyond the means that I have expected from a newcomer that hasn't had enough experience in the acting industry. I found his character very likeable and daring because he shows all of the signs of a true courageous individual. Zoe Saldana (Neytiri) also does a fantastic job as the eight foot tall Na'vi which she plays the love interest of Sam Worthington's character Jake Sully. Although the characters they play in the movie are all blue, and giant-like stature, catlike aliens, they did in fact do a great job in creating a onscreen chemistry that it really does mesh well with all of the special movie effects.
Avatar is certainly a wonderful movie that did portray a variety of great all around aspects of a quality film which involve great graphics, character personas, animations, drama and than there's finally the love interest. It's also a sign of a relief that this movie simply takes away a few of life's common problem's for several hours by taking us away from reality and putting us into this movie's fake reality world. Avatar is certainly successful because many of the movie's storytelling lays on the hands of it's wonderful visuals. I would recommend this movie to anyone that's a general movie lover like me, they won't be disappointed if they were to watch this movie. This movie is indeed a must watch movie, it gets two thumbs up by me for the movies shear genius. I truly appreciate the individuals that have taken time out of their day to read this review I am certainly thankful for that.
