The 2011 Ford Edge Engine Performance
The biggest changes to the 2011 Ford Edge is the updating of two new V-6 engines. The SE, SEL and the Limited versions of the 2011 Ford Edge have a new 3.5 liter, V-6, twin variable cam, 285 hp engines. The new Sport model of the 2011 Ford Edge will get a 3.7 liter, V-6 with a 305 hp engine. All of these engines will be a part of a six-speed automatic transmission. The Sport version of the 2011 Ford Edge will have steering wheel mounted paddles for an auto-manual SelectShift option.
The 2011 Ford Edge Driving Experience
For a mid-sized crossover, the 2011 Ford Edge had quick response to solid steering. With the nicely upgraded interior of the 2011 Ford Edge the outside road is not easily heard. Punching the 3.5 V-6 engine didn't blow any doors off; however, considering it was moving two tons of automobile it was more than acceptable. Smooth shifting of the automatic transmission made for and enjoyable ride as well. Braking on the 2011 Ford Edge has greatly improve over last year's model. Gone is the spongy, mushy feel of the brake pedal. Now you have a solid, firm response on the brake pedal.
The 2011 Ford Edge Exterior and Interior Look
There is a more imposing front grille on the new 2011 Ford Edge, along with new wheel designs. A restyled interior with higher quality materials, touch sense controls, a stylized new dashboard are all part of the new 2011 Ford Edge. This new model will come with the MyFord Touch system. That gives the 2011 Ford Edge a Sony sound system, iTunes tagging and a send to Sync system that lets drivers send Google Maps to the car through a Bluetooth phone.
Overall Impressions of the 2011 Ford Edge
Ford has made some great improvements to the 2011 Edge. The driving dynamics, enhanced technology, and superior interior give the 2011 Ford Edge a leg up on the mid-size crossover category. With the SE, SEL, Limited and Sport versions of the 2011 Ford Edge, the auto consumer will have some great choices.
