The Upgraded 2011 Ford Edge Engine Performance
The new 2011 Ford Edge is coming out with two new V6 engines. The SE, SEL, and Limited versions of the Ford Edge will have a new 3.5-liter, 285 hp, V6. The Sport version of the 2011 Ford Edge will have 3.7-liter, 305 hp, V6. With both engines you get a six-speed automatic and an auto-manual SelectShift functioning. Test driving the new engines and transmission there was excellent acceleration and smooth performance in shifting.
The Upgraded 2011 Ford Edge Exterior and Interior Look
One of the first things you will notice on the new 2011 Ford Edge is the ever impressive front grill that looks even more imposing than before. There is a redesign of the front-end sheet metal as well as newer designed wheels. The upgraded interior of the new 2011 Ford Edge seems to have better materials than last year. Most of the interior controls such as climate control and audio entertainment are now touch sense controls rather than the old buttons and knobs. You will find all the bells and whistles on this interior with the new MyFord Touch interface. Bluetooth phone, Sony sound system, and voice activated functions to help the driver keep their attention to the road.
Overall Impression of the Upgraded 2011 Ford Edge
The driving experience is better than you would expect from the 2011 Ford Edge. The leader of the midsized crossovers is trying hard and succeeding in keeping its lead in this segment of the automobile field. The 2011 Ford Edge is a quick responsive crossover. The ride is comfortable and quiet for driver and passengers alike. Previous models of the Ford Edge had soft and mushy braking where this new 2011 model is much more responsive.
With all the new improvements in both exterior and interior to the 2011 Ford Edge, we are seeing not only a great midsized crossover in the market. We are seeing a midsized crossover that is setting the bar for all others in this category.
