Reviewing the 2011 Hyundai Equus

Taking a Closer Look at the New Luxury Sedan from Hyundai

Mike Burnside
Interesting how Hyundai chose the brand name of its new luxury sedan. The Equus is an extinct mammal related to the horse genus of family. This might explain the winged creature on the hood of the 2011 Hyundai Equus that looks very much like a Pegasus. Either way you look at it, the 2011 Equus is Hyundai's venture into the luxury sedan market. Let's take a look at this new luxury sedan and why it might be the best choice in this economy.

The 2011 Hyundai Equus Engine Performance
You will find under the hood of the 2011 Hyundai Equus a 4.6-liter V8 engine giving you 385 horsepower. That's just a slight increase over its competition, the Lexus LS 460 that gives you only 380 horsepower. The 2011 Hyundai Equus offers the driver a six-speed automatic transmission that shifts like a dream. The rear wheel drive of the 2011 Hyundai Equus and the slightly larger and wider tires give it a slight edge over the Lexus LS 460.

The 2011 Hyundai Equus Interior and Exterior
Hyundai decided that simple was the way to go with its interior options. The 2011 Hyundai Equus comes in just four colors and just two different interior models. The Signature version of the 2011 Hyundai Equus is more driver oriented with a five-seat layout. The Ultimate of the 2011 Hyundai Equus is a four-seat version that pampers the rear seat passengers.

You will find that the 2011 Hyundai Equus also has cooed or heated rear seats that massage the back. The rear seats individually recline and have a rising leg rest. A little refrigerator is situated between the seats and the 2011 Hyundai Equus offers an 8-inch video screen to enjoy your favorite shows.

The Overall Driving Experience of the 2011 Hyundai Equus
Driving the 2011 Hyundai Equus is much like driving its rival Lexus. A very quiet ride that gives you every control you could want or need. The lane departure warning system is nice along with nine airbags and electronically controlled air suspension. Add to that a front fish-eye camera that gives the driver a better look before pulling into traffic.

With a price tag at about $12,000 dollars less than its Lexus competition, the 2011 Hyundai Equus gives you something to think about in this economy. The 2011 Hyundai Equus has plenty of bells and whistles to satisfy the luxury consumer and yet still a cost conscious purchase.

This is Alex with Media Needle...I thought this was a great post that laid out the facts of the car not just the author's opinion which is a breath of fresh air.

I thought your readers might appreciate this video comparing the Bentley with the Equus. It's pretty funny and does a good job comparing the two cars' levels of luxury. http://bit.ly/gUnazy
