Reviewing Maximum Strength Cortizone 10 Plus Creme with Moisturizers

For those that suffer from sensitive skin, Cortizone has been a leading way of treating skin irritations and itches. Unlike the original Maximum strength Cortizone 10 ointment, the Maximum strength Cortizone 10 Plus creme is designed to moisturize as well as treat. Having used the original product, I can see how the Plus formula is superior in a few ways.

How does it work?

If you have irritations from cosmetics, jewelry, poison ivy or oak, eczema, insect bites, and whatever else you come in contact with on your skin that gives you a rash, this crème is for you. It should only be used for external use and is not intended to be used on diaper rash or in the genital area. But it should be used whenever you begin to develop a skin rash. Cortizone 10 plus goes on smooth and white and disappears into the skin. Rub it directly onto the rash or itch and it soothes the skin while diminishing the rash. I noticed that it works very quickly on small irritations that are just developing. I applied it to an itch that was caused by jewelry on my wrist. The itch was almost instantly assuaged and the red mark that was starting to appear was not visible within 5 minutes. I also found it to be extremely useful in heading off causes of eczema before they become a full blown problem.

Smell

As with the original formula, Cortizone 10 Plus is fragrance free. It will not leave a medicated odor on your skin like many of the other itch relief crème out there. This makes it ideal for use at any time of day without risk of embarrassing medicated odors lingering around you.

Look

If you've ever used the original formula, you will notice that it is a clear gel like substance. It goes on a little greasy and leaves a shiny, Vaseline finish on your skin that doesn't absorb for hours. The Cortizone 10 Plus formula is entirely different in appearance. It is solid white in color and absorbs into the skin almost instantly as it is applied. It does not leave a cakey, flakey residue, and is not intended to be seen after it is applied. The fact that it doesn't leave a greasy residue like the original formula is a great advantage to me.

Moisturizer

So how does it work as a moisturizer? The "Plus" in Cortizone 10 Plus stands for "plus 10 moisturizers." You will find mineral oil, vitamin E, and aloe among the ingredients list that help to provide this claim of moisture. Although it doesn't leave a residue or have a scent you can tell it is on your when you notice how much moisturizing power it affords to the spot that it is applied. For a flakey, agitated rash this crème will work miracles on bringing it back to the normal appearance of your skin. Although it does not get rid of bad cases of rashes or eczema, it is perfect for use in soothing skin irritations on their onset and calming them down for the healing process to take place.
