Reviewing Movies for Cash

Are you a movie buff who would like to earn a bit of extra money? Or maybe you are a writer who thinks reviewing movies sounds like a nice way to earn. Either way, you are in luck, because there are people and websites out there willing to pay for your opinion on movies.

Writing a review is not that difficult. You need to include a summary of the movie's plot and characters, plus mention what you thought of it. You might add pros and cons to your review as well. In general, a good movie critique should run between 200 and 400 words. This is enough to let your readers get a good idea about the flick, without getting bored.

A good practise to get into is writing a review for each and every movie you watch, whether it be a DVD or in the cinema. Finish watching it; write down a quick plot summary and the main points that you liked or didn't like about it. This ensures that you won't forget details that ought to be included.

You can make personal comments to add interest and honesty to your reviews. Reviewing movies is not simply about reporting the basic theme and plot points; it is also about giving your opinion.

Now you have several reviews of various movies, it is time to move on to selling them. You are probably wondering how on earth you can earn money with these short little critiques. There are a variety of ways, you can choose which ones work best for you, or you could do all of them at once.

If you are pretty handy with a website and know HTML, you can set up your own movies in review site. Choose a free web host that allows sales and ads, or take on a blog. Post your reviews of the various movies on the site or blog and then sign up for an affiliate program like Amazon.com. This allows you to earn for every sale you send their way.

The affiliate program will give you HTML links to add to your site. These will put up clickable ads for anything you choose, in this case, the movie that is being reviewed. A photo link at the top of the article and a text link at the bottom is usually the best way to go. So now, when someone reads your review, they can just click on the link and go straight to Amazon, or wherever you chose to sign up, and buy the DVD, leaving you with cash in your pocket!

Not so interested in websites? Then you can sign up for a website like Epinions, Ciao! or a multitude of other review sites that will actually pay you for reviews. Each site has its own system. Some pay according to how many people view your review, others pay based on a more complicated rating system. These sites will pay far less than setting up your own site with affiliate links, but it is still worth it, especially if you have a lot of reviews.

Reviewing movies is a fun hobby, and let's face it; you were going to watch them anyway! So why not get paid in the process?
