Reviewing Pantene Fine Hair Solutions Flat to Volume Line

Carol Corbett
I've never claimed to be a beauty queen, and my long, dark locks can most frequently be found in a ponytail, but I do get frustrated with the fine texture of my hair and often wish it held more volume. So naturally, when an opportunity arose to try a shampoo and conditioner that claimed to thicken the structure of my hair and provide "all day volume," I jumped on it.

These products smell wonderful and left my hair with that just-out-of-the-salon scent that I love. But the nose doesn't always know, and in this case, there is more than meets the nostril. Once dry, my hair felt finer than ever. Without blow-drying, it quickly took on a greasy look, and I feel that left my hair limp.

I was taught to always try, try, again and so on the second day of use, I blow-dried my hair to check those results. Again, I was disappointed, this time by straw-like strands that still fell flat.

For a week I attempted different combinations of shampoo, conditioner or both to see if I could get any of the results advertised. Finally, I brought my bottles to my trusted hair stylist to get her opinion of the situation. Her first question was if I'd been to the beach that day, as she noted my hair had a "nasty texture." She quickly agreed that these products seem, in my case, to make my already fine hair worse and that they are to be avoided at all costs.

As a penny-watching miser, I'll keep what's left for four-wheeling trips when I don't care what my hair looks or feels like.
