Reviewing Restaurant Ava in Rockwall, Texas

Restaurant Ava is a nice elegant contemporary American cuisine place, the décor is very slick and simple but with an upscale twist to it, and the prices are a little on the high side but once in a while it is a great place to indulge, and the restaurant offers plenty of seating even outside on the patio. They are located at 108 South Goliad in Rockwall which is close to Caruth Lake and the hours of operations of the restaurant are Tuesday through Thursday from 5:00 P.M to 10:00 P.M and Friday and Saturday from 5:00 P.M to 11:00 P.M and it is closed on Sunday.

For their cocktails menu at their lounge you can order the house white sangria which is made with white wine and apples, oranges and peaches for $6.00 or the Texas peach martini for $8.00, or even a strawberry bellini for $9.00. While some of the foods that you can enjoy at the lounge are the hummus which comes on flatbread for $7.00. some fish and chips which is battered halibut and fries for $11.00, the green room mussels which come with jalapeno, ginger, shitake mushrooms and champagne for $9.00, or even a bruschetta which comes with goat cheese, tomatoes and mint for $6.00.

For their dinner appetizers you can go with the crispy pan-fried sweetbread which comes with capers, corn puree and Roman and wax beans for $10.00, or the sweet corn soup with lemon verbena for $8.00, or for a salad go with the warm spinach salad which comes with a poached egg, cheddar cheese, smoked bacon and a balsamic vinaigrette for $8.00.

While for their mouth watering entrées go with pan seared day boat scallops which are smoked and served with arugula and pesto for $23.00, or the wood grilled Alaskan salmon which comes with peas, smoked bacon, tomatoes and red onions for $28.00. And if you prefer something other than fish try the goat cheese tortellini for $18.00 or the wood roasted pork chop which comes with peaches and green vegetables for $21.00

And to finish your meal with a sweet taste in your mouth try one of their delicious desserts. You can order the pineapple upside down cake which includes nut brittle and coconut ice-cream for $7.00, or go with a trio of sorbets (grapefruit, pineapple and strawberry) for $8.00, or the dark chocolate brownie s'more which comes with marshmallow, peanut butter ice-cream and caramel fudge sauce for $9.00.
