On the front page you will see the "current review rate" which last I looked it says 1.5. I take that as $1.50, wouldn't you? This is how they explain there rates. When they receive reviews that don't match "their" criteria, they will post it but only pay you the bulk rate for it (if you checked the ready to get the bulk rate), if it meets the criteria you get paid the regular rate. What is the bulk rate you ask, well to them it is the regular rate divided by 5. So if you do the math, with the regular rate at 1.5 the bulk rate is 0.3. And, you can't use the reviews you submit to them on your own website or blog. The payout is high, 50.00 USD. At 0.3 cents that will take some time. That's like over 100 reviews at bulk rate. I also read that they aren't based in the US but New Zealand or something like that. That bothers me a little, and the email address to contact them is a yahoo one. When you click "write a review" there is a window at the top where, I guess it's where they put update about the site. You'll see they put a picture up of what they consider a "cheater". Now that's not bad on it's own but they put a link to her myspace.com page, and her email. I think that's over kill. It makes me wonder what they'll do to me.
Now back to the pay rate? I think that at least one of my reviews meet there criteria to be paid the regular rate, but nope only 0.3. Reviewstream should put exactly what the criteria is to be paid the regular rate. Put some samples of "regular rate" reviews so people know what they want.
And I'll admit that I didn't read the FAQ's all the way before I wrote and submitted some reviews. So when I finally got the emails saying my reviews were posted and seen how much I got I was confused and wrote to them asking "what's up with that". The response I got was mean and rude, I can't imange that I was the first do ask "why so low" and don't think that I deserved that.
I would like to write more reviews, but I'm not sure if I want to after I already got them mad at me.
Some reasons why your review might have been rejected are. Not putting the title, Not clicking the " be paid bulk rate" box, Not a long enough review, or not enough information on the product. But mainly not clicking the Box. How much you get per review isn't clear until you submitted one that is accpected. I have had at least 5 reviews accepted, and in the confirmation emails they said to be more descriptive, that was something that a lot of people mentioned. I think that it's just something that they put in every confirmation email. So don't take it wrong. Bottom line, your not going make enough money off this site to pay your monthly bills. But, if you're just looking for a place to write and read reviews, and not trying to get rich it's great.

Post a CommentI think reviewstream is fine. I'll have made $100 at this rate. It's helping me pay the minimum balance on my credit card bills so I can get ahead on a couple of other things. I have never had a review rejected from them and if they tell you it's not enough words, just put more words on there. I agree about the bulk rate and such. They should give you a little more opportunity to make the $2.00 payout. However I have made some good money but I'm a writer anyhow so 300 words is not a big deal to me. It is a site worth checking out though.
I submitted ac ouple reviews to this site but havent laely becasue the pay is not great. They told me to be more specific next time and still paid regular. I was specific as possible.
