Now keep in mind this album isn't in the likes of Lil Wayne or Bun B, but luckily Rich Boy has an excellent producer Polow Da Don exercising his skill on the record. Polow Da Don demonstrates his producing power on Rich Boys second single "Boy Looka Here". Although the sound is drowned out by the repetitive chorus it is sure to pound speakers.
The rest of the CD will make many strippers money in the clubs, but the self titled CD lacks any lyrical content. With so many D boy rappers cluttering the game, it makes it hard to see Rich Boy maintaining a long run in the industry. The LP lacks any real taste or complete vibe. There is no correlation within songs which defeats the purpose of a theme for the entire CD. Interscope records backs this project and makes an effort to sling as many guest appearances on the album. Big Boi of Outkast also makes an appearance on the album. With the likes of an Emcee of that stature on your song, it makes the drowning of Rich Boys short lived career even more apparent.
On the contrary, if you love gangsta rap and D boy tales of the harsh hood then this album is right up your alley. It's hard not to admit this album will soon be gone like yesterday. Rich Boy, we will all see you on one hit wonders on VH1 very soon.

Post a CommentI agree that the beats are hot. Polow Da Don masters the album. He is on the come up too. But as far as it goes with Rich Boy, I think he is a cookie cutter rapper; meaning he is too much alike to be considered different. There are too many D boy rappers and it makes it hard to stand out.
I think this album is pretty good. It's one of the better hip hop albums that have been released in recent years. It's worth the price, and there are several good beats on it.
haha ok Ill let you know...lol.
I wish somebody had a free preview of it. I'd listen to the edited version. I can't see listening to the Parental Advisory version because as soon as I hear bitch/ho, I can't even concentrate on the rest of the album. My focus will be on that. Hearing that on a song is equal to somebody walking up to you, saying "You're the ugliest bastard in the room," and then trying to spark up conversation about the weather. That's the best way I can explain how it feels for a woman to bob her head to a man dogging women out. But I'm still bent on finding somebody with a copy. If you ever put yours up for sale for a cheap price on Amazon.com or Half.com, let me know. I'll buy it.
Ya i had this and a few other reviews sitting in My Documents folder in my computer. I thought I would share it with people. I got the CD as a promotional review for another job. So I'm glad I didnt pay for it. lol. But no disrespect, he seems like a nice person haha.
Man, I wish I knew you for real so I could borrow your copy. I can't find ONE person who owns this CD and I want to hear it, but I refuse to buy it. I have the feeling I'll be disappointed. I can't stand all that bitch/ho/I'm a thug gibberish. But, "Throw Some D's" was catchy and I love the hell out of "Boy Looka Here." I think it's his accent that's attractive to me because he is sooo southern! It's almost a game trying to decipher what he's saying, plus I got to love the swagger. But from Amazon.com, it sounds like another Snoop record: full of calling women out of their name and talking about the rough neighborhood. Bo-ring. Heard it 50,000,000 times before. I downloaded "Boy Looka Here" and blast that all the time in my ride though.
