Reviewing New Shampoos and Conditioners by L'Oreal and John Frieda Collection

L'Oreal EverPure Sulfate-Free Color Care System & John Frieda Collection Brilliant Brunette New Liquid Shine Shampoo & Conditioner

If you're like me, you love free samples. I've recently sampled two new health and beauty products and decided to form a candid write-up of each.

L'Oreal EverPure Sulfate-Free Color Care System: Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner

The EverPure System from L'Oreal is intended to be used on color-treated hair. Specially formulated to preserve a dye job, EverPure's anti-fade system is 100% free of harsh sulfates, salts, and surfactants. The L'Oreal shampoos and conditioners are made of natural botanicals and are completely vegan. With hints of rosemary, mint and juniper, the EverPure collection has a nice and fresh smell to it.

Designed to be a gentle cleanser, L'Oreal's EverPure was too mild of a shampoo for my oily hair. If I continued using it, I may find its claimed color benefits to be true, but I'm looking for a deeper clean than what EverPure Shampoo will give me.

The conditioner is very thick, which I personally love, but it didn't actually coat my hair that well. Along with its intent to be gentle for color-treated hair, I don't think the EverPure System will really give you as styled of results as other products. But if keeping your color outweighs some of your other preferences, L'Oreal's EverPure may interest you.

John Frieda Collection Brilliant Brunette New Liquid Shine: Illuminating Shampoo & Conditioner

John Frieda's Brilliant Brunette has been around for quite some time, but the hair care line has recently debuted a new Ultimate Shine formula for its Brilliant Color Collection. I've actually never tried the old formula, so I can't compare the two and tell you if the new version is even improved. But, John Frieda claims the Liquid Shine Illuminating Shampoo and Conditioner are filled with a shine-infusing complex for a high-gloss finish-illuminating every strand for its best brunette shine.

The cleansing set has a great subtle scent, and I have to heartily agree with the advertising: my hair seems shinier after using the John Frieda Collection's Brilliant Brunette. If a glossed-look is your number one goal for hair care, you really might love the shampoo and conditioner duo. For me, shine is not a top priority so I think I'm going to have to pass on using the Brilliant Brunette collection again in the foreseeable future.

The shampoo was on the thin side for my tastes, and the conditioner was practically non-existent compared to the lusciously thick variety found in John Frieda's Root Awakening Series. The Brilliant Brunette Conditioner certainly had a glossed and glittered look, but it had the thickness and consistency that I'd expect to see in a shampoo-not in a name brand conditioner. But, if heavy conditioners weigh down your hair, and you really are looking for something light and shiny, you may want to give the Brilliant Brunette Liquid Shine Collection a try.

I received a gift package of Made from Earth (organic skincare) products for xmas......In the package was a "Peppermint Herbal Conditioner".

I have color treated hair that is washed daily......after using the Tea Tree shampoo and the Peppermint Conditioner conditioner today, I was so amazed on how my hair looked and felt.....My hair was shiny, smelled good and the conditioner made my hair a breeze to comb thru...the conditioner was not heavy and weigh my hair down.....

My husband noticed the difference right away.....I am very pleased with the Made from Earth bath products and will continue to use them.....My hair looks great and feels healthy.......
