The new guy on the block is RevitaLens OcuTec Multi-Purpose Disinfecting Solution. It was another one of those amazing buys at Walgreens drugstore. The price was $3.99, and I received the same amount back in a register coupon, to spend on my next visit.
The box is a shiny black, with white, blue, and yellow writing, and pictures. It is really eye catching, compared with other contact solutions. It states on the front that there are" two 2 fluid ounce (60 ml) bottles of trial or travel size. These meet air travel carry-on requirements".
Upon opening the box, the two bottles are white, with black labels. They have a safety seal on the top of each one. I washed my hands thoroughly and then broke the seal on the first bottle. I then used the directions on the back of the box, rather than the bottle, as the writing is so much bigger.
I emptied the solution in the lens cases, and threw them away. I used the new lens case that came in the box. I filled both sides for when my husband Len was ready to remove his contacts. The lens case has R on one side, and the other is blank. Len put them in overnight for them to soak. They need at least 6 hours, and they get about 8.
In the morning he went into the bathroom, took out the first contact lens and put a few drops of the RevitaLens OcuTec Solution onto the lens. He rubbed it gently to remove any/all of the protein, and then rinsed it off.
I asked him during the day how his contact lenses were, and he said that he could see really well, and they felt comfortable. When it came to bedtime they were so comfortable that he got into bed without removing them. That has happened a few times, but it was great to know that the new solution was working to give him, really clean lenses that felt so natural.
Looking again on the box, RevitaLens OcuTec is made by Abbott, a company that I trust. It is formulated for soft contact lenses. It cleans, rinses, disinfects, stores, and removes protein. It is a 'New' product.
From their website:

I do make sure that Len changes the solution in his lens case on a regular schedule. I also throw them away every 3 months or so, as this should be done every 2 to 3 months. He has yearly contacts, and purchases 2 sets at a time. He uses one for a couple of weeks, and then changes to the other pair. By using the Multi-Purpose Disinfecting Solution correctly he gets the full wear out of his lenses.
We love that these bottles are the correct size for flying. This year we have been to Vegas, Boston, and England. You should not purchase a large bottle of Multi-Purpose Disinfecting Solution, and then pour some into a smaller bottle.
Abbott have come up with a really good product in their 'New' RevitaLens OcuTec Multi-Purpose Disinfecting Solution. Len's contacts are coming up for a year old, he has recently had an eye check that remained the same, and his contacts are as crystal clear as when they were first purchased.
This is certainly a product that I would purchase again, in the travel size. Depending on cost, I may still buy the re-nu, or Complete, in the large 12 fluid ounce size.
