I really like the new matte collection that Revlon recently introduced. I find it to be very glamorous and when I saw the 'Nude Attitude' shade I thought it'd be the perfect neutral lipstick that I could wear to feel sexy and chic.
The lipstick comes in a basic black tube. The Nude Attitude shade is a peachy beige shade that I thought would be flattering on me. Revlon claims that their matte lipsticks glide on and that they create a suede-like finish that doesn't cake or dry the lips.
I found that all of the Revlon Matte lipsticks that I've tried have had an amazing texture when you apply it to smooth lips. They all create a wonderful matte texture that looks very similar to suede, but they still feel creamy and moisturizing enough to smoothly adhere to the lips. It doesn't dry out the lips once it's on, nor does it make my lips feel crusty and gross.
Nude Attitude was no exception, but I was totally disappointed by the color. I'm African American and I have a golden brown skin tone so normally I can pull off lots of lighter nude or beige tones as long as they have a little bit of color to them, which is why I chose Nude Attitude.
But even though it looked like a peachy beige tone in the tube when I applied it to my lips it looked so much lighter, not peach at all but a pure off white beige shade. It looked totally ridiculous on me especially because it was a matte lipstick, so instead of me looking sexy and chic with my new Revlon lipstick my lips just looked super ashy and dehydrated like I'd been shipwrecked for weeks.
Ugh, it so wasn't the look I was going for.
Normally I can salvage lipsticks that are too light for me by wearing a darker shade of lipstick or gloss on top, but I didn't even bother with this Revlon Matte shade. Nude Attitude is way too light and because it's so matte and opaque I think it just looks best by itself.
In the End...
I thought Nude Attitude by Revlon Matte would be a great nude lipstick for me but it wasn't. I think the lipstick itself is fabulous but this beige shade did nothing for my complexion. I would recommend that no one except for the fairest of skin tones try this lipstick, because if you have even the slightest of tans or brown skin tones it will look chalky and unflattering, instead try the other shades in the Revlon Matte collection.

Post a CommentDarker tones should go with honey or caramel colors. Thanks for the information on this lipstick, I am fair completed so it should be a great color and texture for me. Good luck.
I adore nude lips. I have very Angelina-esque lips myself, very full and heart shaped so I wanted to try and pull off a nude lipstick look like hers. Nude Attitude looked like I put concealer on my lips. Mauve it over, actually looks rather nude on me for I have fair skin and naturally dark pink lips. So that looked awesome. I also bought in the red, which I love and will wear to prom this spring. Love these lipsticks.
Yes I agree I can wear a lot of colors too, but this one wore me out. It looked great in the ad though, the model had a peaches and cream kind of complexion.
I got this color as well because of all the great review but did not look good on my skin tone. I am naturally tan but not too dark or too light so lots of colors look good my skin tone but not this...this color may look best on light skin tone. I also got in %22Wine Not%22 and %22In the Red%22 these shades look great on tan skin...very happy with those colors.
I too tried out this color today and it looked beautiful in the advertisement, but on my lips, they made me look sick and on my way to death, much too light and I am of a light color myself.
Have you found a nude shade that works for you? I have yet to find a good nude. They all end up looking peachy/pinky in that I'm clearly to dark for this color kinda look. :(
