Rhea Dunham and Mark Walberg: There's No Rush to Wed

shannon day
Mark Wahlberg and Rhea Dunham have been a couple since 2001. Their relationship took a break for three months after their daughter Ella Rae was born in 2003. Still together their son was born in 2006, and Rhea Dunham is expecting the couples third child this year. Mark has referred to Rhea as his fiance or future wife but, they have not rushed down the aisle yet. The reason they state is that they both came from broken homes and do not want that for their children. Not a bad reason. Rhea Dunham is an American Fashion Model, and Mark is a actor.

I have been with my "fiance" for 7 years, with a split in the middle. We have two children together. A girl who is 7 and a son who is 2. We have seen no reason to jump headlong into anything. We are committed and together and raising our family as best we know how. This day in age there is less pressure to be married. I hear that its just a piece of paper, and figure that that piece of paper will not make or break what we have built together. Coming from a divorced home and watching the court fights we decided not to go that route for the time being. There

have been no hardships due to not legally married. Everything is the same from Doctors to school for unmarried parents as it is for married parents. The positive spin we have on the subject is that if the unfortunate ever happens and we split, there will be no court battles, costly attorney, and divorce proceedings. We are in this together whether I take his last name or not. I have been able to make a life for myself knowing full well that if anything ever happens I can handle it and that we will still be a team when it comes to raising our children.

It should not be looked down upon that like Rhea Dunham and Mark Wahlberg, some couples are not in such a hurry to run down the aisle. Many people are wanting to make 100% sure that this relationship is really the "one". I just decided that I really don't want to be 30 and divorced already. It is without a doubt a very personal decision that only the couple in question can decide. Depending on how they were raised and what they personally want in life. I know that I am very happy with the decision I have made and know that it was the correct one for me. To each their own.
