In my knee joints, I can actually hear the grinding sound. I know that I have to start moving and I am watching a program about , Yoga and arthritis. The CD I bought is for the beginners and it is called, Yoga for Beginners. I watched the Cd, to learn all the poses and when to inhale and exhale.
That is the key, the proper breathing and learning the stretches. Now, I am doing most of the stretches and the movements and when to breath. I am not holding my breath, I am actually doing the breathing while I am doing the stretching.
Guess what, my knees are not hurting, and I can walk without the pain. The awful grinding sound is going away. Oh, my gosh, no more pain and no more swelling in my knees. In my right foot, there is still some swelling but the pain is going away.
I have only been doing the Yoga, for two weeks now. What a difference, it is making in my body.
So, if you are a couch potato, get off the couch and move. Do some stretching and some breathing and you will see some difference in your body. You will start to feel better in the knees, or wherever your pain is. .
Next, I am going to invest in some good walking shoes, and start walking.
In my first Salutation, Standing on my Matt, placing my feet 3 inches apart and with a circle motion with your arms around and inhale, and when your arms are reaching to the sky exhale and inhale with a circle motion and with your arms and fingers lifting and pointing and reaching to the sky and exhale.
With your hands together in a prayer pose, inhale and hands together in prayer motion, pushing them together and doing a prayer pose inhale and bringing them back down to your chest, exhale, Doing the poses 5 times each and praying for your day for peace of mind, and the joy, with the love to fill your heart.
The second pose is a mountain pose, with lifting your arms and inhailing and reaching down to your knees and you exhale. Watching your breathing, Doing this position 5 times. Making every movement count and being in total harmony with your body.
The third pose is a child's pose, getting on your knees and inhale with your elbows and hands on the ground and bringing your head close to your knees, exhale. If you cannot do this pose, do what you can. By getting on your knees and inhale and arch your back with your elbows and hands on the ground, exhale when you look up. Again, still on your knees and in child pose and arching your back, inhale and as you look up, exhale.
The poses that you do will get easier as time goes along. The breathing will help COPD, patients. Because of the breathing and the stretching. You will begin to loosen up and be able to walk without the pain. Doing the stretching is important with inhaling and exhailing and your knees will begin to bend without the pain. Your finger joints will stop hurting as you stretch your fingers by just making a fist and releasing them. You will start feeling better about yourself. Your body will also start fitting into your clothes. Greet your day with Yoga, and start feeling better.
