Block Island, Rhode Island kayaking and kayak fishing.

Photo 1: a freshly caught bluefish tethered to a sea kayak prior to ad hoc filleting and frying on the shores of Block Island, Rhosde Island. Note chart kit. Bluefish are best bled as soon as they are caught. Otherwise they spoil, giving them that undeserved reputation for oiliness.

Block Island, Rhode Island's Hotel Manisses is one place to spend the night at Block Island if you paddle or transport your kayak there to fish. The crossing from Point Judith is not that difficult in a sea kayak. Alternatively, you can put your kayak on the http://store.payloadz.com/details/806456-Software-Mapping-and-GPS-Monomoy-Island-Cape-Cod-kayaking-transit-routes-put-ins-portages-and-caution-areas..html and ride the ferry to the island

TheHotel Manisses is haunted. Each room holds on its dresser a complimetary decanter of brandy. The hotel lies adjacent to a unusual farm that houses camels, emus, kangaroos.

Photo 2: bluefish fillets ready for the oven. Note the fillet's pinkish a result of bleeding the catch within a few minutes after it was caught.

Photo 3: Jason Kates and Mark Stephens portage their kayaks ashore at Block Island after making the crossing from Point Judith. Note their gore-tex sea kayaking drysuits and neoprene hoods.
