Rice Salad

Snacks are potential threat to the people who have heart disease. It also causes heart diseases in the people who don't have heart disease. Most of the snacks have preservatives, sweeteners which can cause cancer. Plus the snacks have very small amount of nutritional value. According to BBC, Aspartame, that's used in artificial drinks and snacks may cause brain tumor. And also it is rumored that excessive usage of Saccharin causes bladder cancer. The preservatives that are usually used in the snack foods can increase the possibility of having genetic changes, cancer and birth problems. We should avoid eating snacks and make our kids eat healthy food if we don't want them to have health problems in the future.

Here is a healthy recipe that you can enjoy at any time of the day.

Ingredients

1 cup of rice

5 leaves of lettuce

5 leaves of fresh mint

1 table spoon mustard

1 red pepper

1 yellow pepper

Half lemon

½ cup of olive oil

First we get a pot and fill it half with water. Add the rice and boil it like pilaf. Then we chop the lettuce and mint leaves into small pieces. Chop the red and yellow pepper into cubes. Mix the rice, lettuce, red pepper and yellow pepper in a bowl. Squeeze the lemon into another bowl. Add the olive oil and the mustard and mix it. Then mix this mixture with the other ingredients and voila!
