Richard Cordray is the Best Person for the Job of Ohio Attorney General, Period

Attorney General Richard Cordray Has What it Takes to Get the Job Done

For the first time in quite a while Ohio has an Attorney General, Richard Cordray, who we can trust.

He took over an office in turmoil after a scandal by his predecessor, and instead of focusing on the negative, he has worked hard to learn this new job that he was thrust into. He is loyal to his employees which is evident by how many of them followed him from his previous office as state treasurer.

As the top Attorney in Ohio, his role is to look out for the State in all aspects of the legal process. According to a recent Facebook post, his office is essentially in place to help Ohio "by representing our legal interests." Among other important responsibilities.

His track record leading up to this election shows that he is a clear thinking man with a strong moral compass regarding what is right. He is sworn to uphold the laws that have been created in Ohio, and he does not waver when those laws are being challenged.

According to comments made during a July 2009 interview with Matt Naugle of RightOhio.com. Speaking on our constitutional rights, Attorney General Cordray said:

"These rights include the rights derived from self preservation, and the right to security, the right to pursue happiness." He went on to say: "Those are to me, the tenets that inform the constitutional rights which we all work to uphold."

It is not surprising to me that he can carry off such a speech since he is a highly educated man with multiple degrees, a Masters Degree in Economics from Oxford University, and his Law degree from University of Chicago. He was also a five time undisputed Jeopardy champion in 1987!

If you review him based solely on his accomplishments to date, it becomes quite clear that the office of Attorney General is not going to be his final stop on his political journey. It would not surprise me at all to see him win the job of Ohio Governor one day.

Meanwhile what his office is doing right now is working on important issues that face Ohioans every day such as; fighting to improve consumer protection by helping to weed out and eliminate fraud against our citizens, working to improve the process of charitable solicitation, helping the state prevent and defend against antitrust situations, and finally by standing firm against organized crime.

It is my opinion that a vote for this clean cut and trustworthy Attorney General is a vote for democracy in Ohio!
