Riddex Plus Doesn't Work

Riddex Plus was Ineffective at Removing Insects and Pests from My Home

Zachary Fruhling
I recently purchased Riddex Plus after seeing an infomercial by Riddex. Riddex claims that its new Riddex Plus is capable of ridding a home of rodents and insects through some sort of ultrasonic electronic pulse over a home's electrical wiring. I purchased Riddex Plus to try to rid my home of spiders and ants. After using Riddex Plus for a short time, it is easy to conclude that Riddex Plus is entirely useless for pest control. Riddex Plus simply doesn't work.

The appeal of Riddex Plus is obvious. Although many household pests are annoying at best, it is still cruel to take their lives simply because it is an inconvenience to us as humans and to our creature comforts. So if there were a way to keep a house free from insects and rodents without having to kill them, so much the better. So in principle, Riddex Plus is an ideal and humane solution to the problem of home pest control. But the problem is that Riddex Plus just does not work. After a week of use I noticed no discernible difference in the number of spiders, ants, or other household pests in my house.

Riddex Plus is advertised on fairly convincing infomercials, and I figured that for the price I really had nothing to lose. I must admit that my "scam" radar was partially sounding in my head from the infomercials, but the mere possibility that Riddex Plus would work was enough for me to take the risk and order Riddex Plus. I have never been overly adverse to the use of poisons for pest control, as long as the poison is used in moderation and in such a way that there is no danger to people or pets, so again the appeal of Riddex Plus was to avoid using any poison whatsoever in my efforts at household pest control.

So my advice to you if you are considering buying Riddex Plus for yourself and your home: save your money and go with the tried and true pest control methods offered by traditional exterminators. Riddex Plus talks a very good talk on its infomercials, but my own experience has convinced me that Riddex Plus is just another "As Seen on TV" flop. It is worth noting that other people, at least some of them, seem to have had more positive experiences with Riddex Plus than I have had, so all hope may not be lost for Riddex Plus. But my own experience with Riddex Plus directly contradicts any positive reviews that may be out there for this product. In conclusion, Riddex Plus was extremely ineffective in ridding my home of insects and other pests. The Riddex Plus infomercials are convincing, but Riddex Plus just plain doesn't work.

what continues to amaze me is the fact that the Riddex product has an FTC ACTION against them and legally are not allowed to advertise or sell their product until 2023. This can be found at FTC.GOV. There is an electronic pest repeller called the PEST OFFENSE which can be found at www.pestoffense.com that does work. They have no actions against them and they are the only company who did a 5 year University study to prove efficacy against rats, rice, and roaches. Riddex cannot and will not say the same because all they tried to do was copy a look but not the technology!!!
