Background

After the April Fool's Day joke of Riddle School 4, Riddle School 5 followed immediately to soothe any wounded prides for being slighted by the previous instalment of the Riddle School series. This, according to the Author Comments found on the game's website, is to be the last of the Riddle School series.

Gameplay

The Riddle School series turns out to be about something bigger than simply escaping the confinements of school. Help Phil escape the evil plans of head masterminds to true freedom.

Click around on your surroundings to help Phil make his escape. You can collect items along the way. Items that are collected are stored in the inventory displayed at the bottom of the screen. A map is also displayed to the right of the inventory for your convenience.

By utilizing collected items and your point-and-click abilities, get Phil out before the evil plans for the students of Riddle School are completed.

Review

Riddle School 5 is graphically more developed. Also, the increase in plot complexity is a welcome change to the usual theme of running away from school. Though a little more further from reality than simply ditching school, it follows the storyline of the Riddle School series fairly well and does a good job of bringing the series to a close.

Riddle School 5 scores a 9/10 for its high level of entertainment value.
