In Celebration of Great Outdoors Month, I want to talk about one of my favorite outdoor activities to do in Springfield, PA 19064. I frequent Ridley Creek State Park for walks with my daughter and her jogging stroller to walk on the five mile paved walking, jogging and bike trail. I also enjoy nice hikes between one and five miles in the woods of the park. The park is an amazing place that is close by and offers many wonderful outdoor activities. I want to highlight some of the things you can do in the park.

The park is located at: Ridley Creek State Park, 1023 Sycamore Mills Rd. Media, PA 19063-4398. They have a website located at: http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/stateParks/parks/ridleycreek.aspx

The Park offers a five mile trail with a smooth paved surface for walkers, joggers and bicycle riders. I enjoy walking on this because it is hilly and has nice views of the park making it a perfect place to walk with my daughter in her jogging stroller.

The Park also offers a variety of hiking trails. They have over twelve miles of trails ranging from your half a mile hike to a five mile advanced hike up a hill and over the creek. They park also offers organized group camping for special groups to use. They do not offer camping for individual families.

In addition to those features, the park has a historic mansion with beautiful flower gardens. The mansion can even be rented out for weddings as it has a large ballroom. The park also offers picnic pavilions complete with bathrooms and outdoor grills. We love packing a picnic lunch and taking my daughter to the park to run around. We eat lunch on the picnic tables and let her run around on the lush green lawns.

The park offers a playground for young children and also offers a playground for adults - an exercise court. The outdoor exercise court has various stations for adults to work out through doing pull ups, sit ups using the benches and hanging bars provided. I think there is no better place to get a workout then out in a beautiful natural setting.

If you are into fishing or hunting, the park also offers opportunities for those activities. They offer a limited deer hunting season for those who do archery hunting. They also have excellent fishing as they stock the creek with trout during fishing season. The park allows fly fishing.

If you live in Delaware County, you have to check out Ridley Creek State Park. It's the perfect location to go enjoy nature during Great Outdoors Month!
