Rihanna Allegedly Stiffs Trainer

Personal Trainer Takes Rihanna to Court

Wendy Dawn
You can get your mind out of the gutter. It's not what you are thinking.

Rihanna allegedly failed to pay her trainer for a couple of weeks work, according to TMZ. How much does it pay to train Rihanna for a couple of weeks? Well, the lawsuit filed in L.A. County Superior Court is asking for $26,144.14.

I don't think the trainers at my local gym made that all of last year. Did she train Rihanna or sculpt her? Maybe there was some plastic surgery involved.

Cindy Percival claims to have charged Rihanna $1,500 for personal training services, reports TMZ. Having carefully considered this story, I'm seriously considering personal training as a new profession. Rihanna must be in need of a new trainer. I've watched Shuan T's Hip-Hop Abs and have a copy of P90x. We are good to go.

I know some personal trainers who would eat up the job of training Rihanna for $150 a day, much less $1,500. The thing is Rihanna has an incredible body. What in the world can a trainer contribute that requires $1,500 every day?

I discussed this with a couple of personal trainers and we couldn't think of anything. Not even a combination of nutrition and exercise should cost that much. This brings me to a painful observation, although not new, that superstars have more money than common sense. This is nonsensical.

Not only is the price outrageous, but surely, Rihanna can afford to pay this little bill. Now it goes to court and we get to rag both Rihanna and her trainer.

This is a case for People's Court or Judge Judy. Someone needs to be blunt and explain to Rihanna that she can be inspired to do crunches, lunges, and aerobics for a lot less than Ms. Cindy Percival charges.

Kathy Kaehler is a fitness trainer to the stars who helped Michelle Pfieffer fit into her sleek, form fitting Catwoman costume. According to her website, Kaehler has worked with Meg Ryan, Julia Roberts, Kim Kardashian, Rob Lowe, Sarah Jessica Parker, Ellen DeGeneres, Jennifer Aniston, Winona Ryder, Bonnie Raitt, Claudia Schiffer, Sugar Ray Leonard, Justine Bateman Lisa Kudrow, and a number of other stars. She trains celebrities in her home, and may also charge a bundle in person, but for less than $20 I can get her videos or follow her workouts online.

My point is simple. There is just no sense paying $1,500 for personal training. Why doesn't Rihanna just pay her bill before this goes to court and find a cheaper personal trainer?

I'm going to go ahead and start working on my training credentials so I can cut Rihanna a discount when she calls.

The prices paid by those in the upper income levels is relative. Sometimes, the only way someone can get the wealthy to hire them is by charging more.
