Rihanna and Chris Brown Incident
Chris Brown allegedly assaulted Rihanna on February 8th, 2009. Brown is alleged of assaulting Rihanna the night before the Grammy Awards, after the couple attended Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party. The argument started in the car, according to media outlets. The argument between Rihanna and Chris Brown escalated into a physical altercation, resulting in the police responding to a an unidentified woman's 911 phone call.
It is still unclear as to what started the argument or the fight. Unconfirmed media reports have said that Rihanna was upset over a text message that Chris Brown received. It has been confirmed that Brown fled the scene, and was later sought by the LAPD. Chris Brown turned himself into the police the same night, and was released on a $50,000 bail. Brown's first court appearance is scheduled for March 5th, 2009.
Media outlets have also reported that Rihanna and Chris Brown had a troubling relationship. The couple has been together a little over a year, Rihanna is 20 years old and Chris Brown is 19 years old. Perhaps their age played a role in the relationship arguments.
Rihanna's pictures released by TMZ.com are sure to set off a firestorm of responses. Chris Brown has been laying low, hiring a celebrity attorney Mark Geragos and a team of experts that specializes in damage control. Brown's career is in serious jeopardy, especially after the actual photos of Rihanna's bruised face have been released.
