Rihanna Gets a Gun Tattoo on Her Ribcage What's Next?

Does Her Gun Tattoo Really Mean Strength to Her or is it Gang Related?

Is Rihanna losing it or what? After what just happened to her a few weeks back with boyfriend Chris Brown (or ex-boyfriend by now who really knows) she went out and got another tattoo. Ok, tattoos are cool and I have nothing against them, but Rihanna got a new gun tattoo positioned on her ribcage. People are probably wondering why on earth she would get something like a gun after all the violence she just encountered. Is Rihanna portraying bad violence and being a bad influence on all her fans? Or does it really mean personal strength defending ones self like Rihanna says? Ever watch tattoo shows on television? If you notice you will often see a few people getting a gun tattoo. Gun tattoos are actually very popular not because of gangs either. I have known a few people who had gun tattoos that were actually pretty decent looking, especially the one my best friend got.

My friend who owns a tattoo parlor in Florida actually has a similar gun tattoo to Rihanna. Years ago before my friend moved to Florida she was beaten up by her boyfriend (ex-boyfriend loser now) and ended up in the hospital for over 2 weeks. I won't go into detail on what her ex did to her, because the injuries were so bad I thought my friend wasn't going to pull through. Anyway what I am trying to say is the main reason why my friend got a gun tattoo was, because it was her way of showing her strength and self defense instead of carrying a real gun around. So maybe this is Rihanna's reason why she decided to get a gun tattoo. My friend's gun tattoo was a Purple and teal rose in the middle with a small gun on each side. The guns were a pretty Blue with Black detailing. Now I am not saying guns are ok to carry around. In my books that's a total no, but a gun tattoo to each it's own it's your body. Tattoos are a part of art to some and can be very addicting. Rihanna has over 10 different tattoos on all parts of her body. To have one in your home is fine for protection, but keep it locked up.

It pains me to see women (or anyone) symbolizing ideas like "personal strength/defending ones self" with guns or other violent objects. I will just pray for her that she can find strength in something more positive... :D Great post!

I really hope she comes to her senses and breaks it off with Chris Brown.

I've seen some beautiful gun tattoos. Rhianna getting one is really her business and hers alone, not the publics.

The tatoo artist said she was thinking about getting this before the incident and for some reason l'm starting to believe she likes violence okay maybe l always though she was into violence l mean she she said it her self that 300 is one of her favorite movies due to it's violent nature and then again she busted her brother in the face with a glass bottle so maybe l was right it sees she really likes violence

Look...most musicians nowadays come from a criminal/mafia/drug dealing background. Why the heck is all of this such a surprize? This is why I never buy their music/crap.

May as well have got a bulls-eye tattooed there instead. Nothing against Rhianna, nothing against tats, nothing against guns; just seems weird to me for her particular situation is all.

    Good grief!

I agree with you--to each his own. It's great to hear about different perspectives.
