In Camp Hill, PA, he attended Cedar Cliff High School. Before Poison, Rockett held many professions including: salesmen, lifeguard, hair dresser, Emergency Medical Technician, and dishwasher.
After Rockett spent twenty years with Poison he released his first solo album Glitter 4 Your Soul on January 7, 2003. This album was distributed online and was a tribute to glam in the 1970's.
In 2006, he guest appeared on TLC's "Wrecks to Riches", which is an auto overhaul series.
In 2007, Rockett announced the opening of his own drum manufacturing company Rocket Drum Works Inc. The company specializes in the creation of ultra custom drum kits, snare drums and custom accessories.
Before opening his own drum shop, Rockett worked for Chop Shop Custom Drums. He left due to conflicting opinions with the founder. Rocket recruited members from the Chop Shop to work at his own company.
Rockett has a life-long love of Star Wars and admits his favorite character is C-3PO.
Rockett is a vegan and an animal rights activist.
He also holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
He married girlfriend Melanie Martel in October of 2008. On July 14, 2009 they welcomed their first born Jude Aaron Rockett.
