Rimmel Volume Flash Mascara: A Review

I love trying new mascaras, I have tried so many it's quite worrying!

The only make up I really wear everyday is mascara, so I like to get a good quality one, I saw an advert for this on the TV so I thought I would give it a try.

The price.

RRP is £6.50, which is fairly mid range for a mascara.

The product.

It has a brush instead of a comb, the bristles are very short and this, unfortunately means that the mascara has a very strong tendency to form clumps and the bristles are too short to brush them out of the eyelashes.

The mascara did make my eyelashes look much longer and thicker, but the mascara was very clumpy and didn't spread evenly through the lashes.

The alternative.

Luckily, two days after I bought the first mascara, I got another one free in the post!

I had entered a competition on the Rimmel website and won a "Volume flash the max" in ultra black.

Now this is from the same company and from the same range, but it was like a completely different mascara.

The brush was bigger, better and the bristles were longer, it did not clump and it spread evenly throughout my eyelashes making them look longer and thicker.

I can't say I noticed much of a difference in the actual colour, but my eyelashes are black anyway.

So in short, if you are thinking of getting a volume flash, go for the Volume flash max!

I have used the first of your choices and I found it to be the same way. It was clumpy. I got it in my eyes once and I thought my eyes were on fire!!!
