Rising Park is by far the most beautiful park in Lancaster Ohio. The grounds are vast and very well maintained. An initial glance at Rising Park is deceptive, as you will see a pond, playground and tennis courts. There is so much more to Rising Park in Lancaster Ohio.
The tennis courts are of course a popular attraction of the park, there are several courts for your enjoyment, and they are free which is even better. I personally don't know of any other public tennis courts in this city, but that does not mean they don't exist. The pond of Rising Park is nicely maintained, and it adds to the picturesque setting of this park. You can enjoy fishing and feeding ducks and geese here. You can not however swim at Rising Park, or ice skate. If you plan on casting out, please make sure you have the appropriate Ohio fishing license. There are benches set up so you can peacefully gaze out across the water, as well as a lovely gazebo.
The playground is large and has all the necessitates to make your little ones happy. Swings, slides and other playground equipment are available for your enjoyment. There is plenty of space at Rising Park for a football game if that interests you.
Rising Park is popular with the locals as a spot for family reunions and birthday parties. There are several lovely shelter houses available for public use. Most contain restrooms and fireplaces as well as benches and picnic tables. The shelter houses are spread out, and simply driving or walking the paved lanes will lead you to the shelter houses.
Probably the most popular attraction of Rising Park in Lancaster Ohio is the mountain. A trail leads up the side of this mountain that you can hike up to enjoy a breath taking view of the city. On a clear day, you can see the buildings of nearby Columbus Ohio. The locals call it a mountain, but don't get discouraged! It is not too steep or strenuous of a hike. You can make it to the top in about ten minutes or so, and as you stand there looking out on the city you will be very glad you made the hike up.
Rising Park is by far the most beautiful of all of the parks in Lancaster. I hope you enjoy your visit to the park.
