Rising Star Award - July 2009 Winners Announced!

If you have been on AC for longer than a year, you have seen our users go through several name changes-from Content Producers to Sources and now Contributors. Rather than keep changing the name of this award (and the badges that accompany them), we have decided to officially rename this award the Rising Star Award. It's the same great award that recognizes 5 contributors who have joined within the past 4 months, who show tons of promise with their content quality and quantity, promotion skills, community involvement and SEO -just with a new name.

Shelly Barclay received numerous enthusiastic nominations in the Forum. Her involvement in the AC community and her interesting and diverse content on everything from volcanoes to Harry Potter has tagged her as one of AC's rising stars.

Jeffrey Weeks has established himself from the get-go as an expert in saltwater fishing and arts and entertainment. His background as a professional journalist and former high school lit, civics and journalism teacher shows through in his well-written and researched content.

Since joining in April, Tamara McRill has published 37 pieces of content and received nearly 31,000 page views. She does an excellent job of pinpointing and writing on well-trafficked topics.

M.G. Hardiman is building out a fantastic library on diverse topics ranging from gardening to local D.C/Virginia/Maryland content. Her piece on 4^th of July fireworks in the Washington D.C. Metro area earned her over 7,000 page views alone.

Even though Anne Wright just joined AC at the end of June, she has already published 30 pieces of content, earned nearly 19,000 page views and climbed to a Clout 6. Her expert title-writing and SEO skills have earned 5 of her pieces over 1,000 page views already.
