The internet world makes everything in life easier. It seems like everything that we can normally do, we can do online. Yes, it seems like doing these things online may be quicker, easier and sometimes cheaper. However, there are some things in life that can be risky when we take them out of our real world and apply them to the world the internet, this includes purchasing our pet's medication online.

Yes, there are conveniences to ordering regularly prescribed medication that our pet takes online. The two being we can save time and sometimes we can save money. What are the risks?

The Online Pharmacy Could Be Selling Inferior Medication

The medication we get from our veterinarian is safe medication. We can assume it comes from a reliable source. When we order online we can't always assume this.

In fact, some medication that our sold online are inferior medication and is counterfeit medication. This medication could also be expired.

Some medication that is sold online is from companies that are not based in the United States. This means that they are not governed by our laws.

Shipping Can Ruin Medications

The way medications are shipped can have an effect on the medications. This can cause them to lose their effectiveness. Yes, the medications that has been given to you by your physician. But these medications have been shipped in the best possibly ways and quality control was supervised.

Yet, if you are not concerned with the risks or you still need/want to shop online for the convenience or the savings, do it in a smart way. Shop at US based sites only. Make sure that the company will honor all manufacturer's guarantees on their products.

Remember if you are smart on how you purchase your pet's medication, your pet will have a better chance of staying healthy.

I once ordered eye drops online for our little dog (the one who left us last year) The drops were supposed to be refrigerated. They arrived and sat in the noonday sun, on the porch, for hours until I got home. I threw them out. cheers
