Risky Investing for a Risky Life

Some Small Truths No One Ever Opens Their Mind To

Hey you investor, what you're doing is risky. I can't take the risks. I have a job and bills to pay so I can retire with enough money in my superannuation.

OK no seriously. That is what 99.99% of you might say. And it is one big load. Let me bring it down for you. Investors, invest for many reasons. A lot of which is financial freedom. Notice how I did not say security. The word security is more likely used in the sentence "I need my job for its security".

You get a job, work for 50 years. You scrimp and save your whole life until you retire and then you get some well deserved money. This amount is directly proportional to how much has been put in you super over the years. Then you retire to the good life always aware of not letting the money run out, after all you need it to last the rest of your life. Then when you die that small amount left over is drained into what you owe and the left overs split to your family or whoever you said gets it in your will...

Now that is one way of living life.

Now imagine learning about investing in business and real estate etc. You say it is risky, and yes with what you know now it is. But this is my example I put to you. You have just had a bad accident, you need brain surgery and there is only a young man nearby. He has to do the surgery on you. Oh no you say. Now what if that man is replaced by a brain surgeon with a life full of experience. There is still a small amount of risk as always but you have now managed that risk. So instead of saying it is risky why not learn how to make it a small manageable risk.

In conclusion what would you prefer, retiring after 50 years of work, having a small amount of money to live on and trying to live on what small amount the government gives you. Or learn early to invest. Stocks, real estate, business or whatever, it doesn't matter. Learn and manage the risk because it could be the difference between retiring old with nothing and retiring at age 30 a multimillionaire who can hand down that money and investments for generations to come, creating a legacy for all time.
