Riva Grill in South Lake Tahoe: Wonderful Food and a Beautiful View
Don't Miss This Place If You Are in South Lake Tahoe
The atmosphere of the Riva Grill was casual but classy and the interior of the restaurant was clean and well decorated with mahogany. Riva Grill had a very inviting dining room layout. The weather was so nice that my friend and I chose to eat on the large outdoor deck. They have heating available outside, though it really was not needed.
We had a wonderful waiter who was funny and attentive and more than willing to snap a picture of us with our beautiful view. He immediately brought some tasty, crunchy bread sticks to the table with what tasted like a fresh made hummus dip. We ordered the Riva Grill house salad for an appetizer and found it to be fresh and satisfying.
While enjoying the view of the sunset and boats on the lake, we enjoyed a bottle of Freemark Abbey 2008 Voignier. The wine went perfectly with my tamarind chicken which truly melted in my mouth. It was that good. My friend also thoroughly enjoyed her wine with her meal of halibut with a crab risotto patty. The food at Riva Grill was simply delicious.
The dinners were each in the $30 price range, as was the bottle of wine. If you are looking for a quiet restaurant with a beautiful view and incredibly good food, the Riva Grill in South Lake Tahoe is the place to go. All their sea food is fresh at Riva Grill and it is a perfect way to end a day of exploring the breathtaking scenery of Lake Tahoe. Fresh mountain air, a gorgeous blue lake and a great meal; what could be better?
You can contact Riva Grill at 530-542-2600. Reservations are not needed but are helpful if you are hoping to get a deck side table. The restaurant serves brunch, lunch and dinner and is open 7 days a week.
