To really get a prime example of the Rival Crock Pot, one must examine one of the best selling and most appreciate models in their line of slow cookers. The Rival Versaware Crock Pot is the proudest and the most glorious of the Rival Crock Pot line. This provides us with a great jumping off point from which to review.
The Rival Versaware Crock pot, unlike many of it's other stoneware counterparts has been labeled extreme temperature cookware and constructed out of a highly heat resistant material making it lightweight and easy to transfer from place to place. This makes a lot of sense due to the fact that Crock Pots see many homes and get to visit friend's houses for cook offs family events. Transportation is key and the Rival Versaware Slow Cooker surely excels at this.
One of the major flaws with the Rival Versaware Crockpot is the user's inability to use traditional metal utensils inside the slow cooker. Doing so will damage the cooker itself and is not recommended. It is quite apparent that Rival is intent of trading one good quality for another. This Versaware Crockpot is constructed of a heavy duty material, but you can no longer use metal utensils. While this is a preferable trade in my eyes, one shouldn't have to trade older features for newer ones when consider upgrading to a new crock pot. Newer and better features should be "added", not "traded". Trading features defeats the entire purpose of releasing a new Crock Pot because it's not truly "improved" rather just different.
All in all, the Rival Versaware Crock Pot cooks well, it has excellent heat resistance, core temperature control and it's durability is quite unsurpassed in the field of Slow Cookers. There are no real features to speak of, as the Slow Cooker market is somewhat unsophisticated. You've got your "High", "Low" and "Warm" settings as you'd normally have. The bottom line here, when considering the Rival Versaware Crock Pot you've got to consider how important the above features and drawbacks are to you as a consumer!

Post a CommentGood review. I think most crockpots are the same more or less. My Rival lastes several months before the lid bracket broke. I was able to get it easily replaced however, aided by the fact that I worked for Rival at the time.
