United States of America
The "River City Star" floats between Omaha, Nebraska and Council Bluffs, Iowa along the Missouri River; has 2 decks and can accommodate 149 people. The lower deck provides dining and a full bar and the upper deck provides a canopy to shield from the sun.
This riverboat wasn't always in the Omaha area; it was actually brought here from Lake Mead in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2004. This riverboat is located at "Miller's Landing"; 151 Freedom Park Road in Omaha. But whether it started out in Nevada or Nebraska it's still an awesome vessel to visit.
As with many places the "River City Star" has a calendar of events and checking it out on line is a great way to see what and when things are taking place. For instance there are sightseeing cruises that offer shopping and concessions. Tickets are quite affordable; $12.00 for adults, $10.00 for seniors (65 and older), and $8.00 for children (12 and under). At these rates there's really no excuse not to visit.
An exciting opportunity to climb aboard is being held on May 2nd. What makes this particular day so special is "The River City Yacht Club" will be hosting a "Public Dinner Cruise" aboard the "River City Star Riverboat." This event is from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm; dinner is fully catered and drinks are available. As you dine you will listen to nice music featuring the "Captain's Narration" and float along the Missouri River. What better way to see the sights than to hop on board this boat.
The full dinner buffet includes:
Mashed Potatoes
Honey Glazed BBQ Chicken Breast
Roast Sirloin with a Cabernet Demi Glaze
Vegetables
Salad
Bread
Iced Tea
Cash bar available to adults 21 and over
The ticket prices are: $40.00 for adults, $35.00 for seniors 65 and older, and $20.00 for children 12 and younger. Please make reservations 72 hours prior to the event.
So whether you want to take your spouse on a date or have a family night out you'll have an awesome time aboard "The River City Star Riverboat."
