Matt Lamb, a local Chicago artist will be opening his much anticipated Salvador Dali Museum in January. 2011. The museum will be located in the River East Art Center, 435 East Illinois Street, Chicago, in the River East neighborhood. On display will be original Dali sketches, paintings and family photos. Salvador Dali, the genius Spanish surrealist was an activist for peace, much like Matt Lamb. In 1986, he sold the family's very successful chain of funeral homes and became an artist.

In addition to paintings, photos and assorted sketches, the Salvador Dali museum will also boast a number of large sculptures that are on loan from Juan Bofill, a Barcelona businessman. Some of the sculptures that will be on display are actually from casts that Dali created himself. Although the Dali-Lamb Museum will officially open in January, 2011, the celebratory grand opening will be held in May of 2011, which will include members of Dali's family.
