The entire workout floor of the River Valley YMCA Prior Lake is spacious. All cardio equipment is up-to-date and include personal TVs and MP3 player docking stations. Flat screen TVs are also available throughout the workout floor and offer radio tuning and closed-captioning. Nearly any kind of cardio equipment is housed at the River Valley YMCA, including stair steppers, rowing machines, treadmills and several varieties of elliptical trainers. Weight machines and free weights are also available on the workout floor. The pool area includes two large lap pools, a whirlpool and a small water slide. Group fitness classes are offered at convenient times (early morning, mid-morning and late afternoon/early evening) and range from mat pilates to BodyPump to hip hop dance.

When the weather warms up, members can head outside and enjoy a toddler-friendly splash deck, a picnic area, walking trails and a gazebo. Members can also relax in an open indoor seating area with large windows. Vending machines selling soda, bottled water, candy and nutrition bars are available in this area.

This family-friendly facility offers plenty of activities including swimming lessons, American Red Cross certification courses, summer camps (both day and overnight), after-school day care and preschool classes.
