Road Kill Halloween Costume: Supplies to Pull Off a Clever Costume

If you are looking for something unique and unusual for Halloween this year, I have the perfect solution! Every year I see costumes come through my son's school that give me great ideas for the following year. This time I came up with one all my own that turned out to be the blue ribbon winner and a huge hit!

For this costume you will need the following items:

• Black pants or black leggings
• Black long sleeve T-Shirt or sweatshirt
• Black shoes or boots
• Black Plastic head band
• Black and yellow face makeup
• Stuffed animal
• Craft Glue and glue gun
• Pipe cleaner (black)
• Green construction paper (used to make street sign)
• Yellow duct tape or yellow craft paint
• Cardboard or poster board

The idea for this costume is simple. You become the road by wearing all black and painting or use the yellow tape to make the center divider up your body (road). Use the face makeup to transform or cover your face black as well. This is where a black hooded sweatshirt comes in handy over a T-Shirt. You want your entire body to appear as the road.

Cut your cardboard to create a street sign, glue the green construction paper to the cardboard and write whatever highway sign you desire (curves ahead, highway 19, deer Xing...etc). Attach the sign to the headband with either pipe cleaner or glue. With safety pins, attach your "dead" animal to the front of you. If you wish to have a bloody scene you can add red paint around the stuffed animal.
