Start off with AC/DC and songs from the "Back in Black" Album. Of course add Back In Black, You Shook me All Night Long and Hells Bells. Add any other you like from the CD as well as Highway to Hell.
Steppenwolf's Born to be Wild is a great addition as it is about motoring and keeps you awake and ready to roll.
Sammy Hagar's I Can't Drive 55 is another perfect song. Although I advise you stick to the speed limit.
Next try some Rolling Stones songs. I suggest Start Me Up and Route 66. At first, it's good to have music related to what you are doing. Keep it exciting. More great Rolling Stones can include Jumping Jack Flash, Under My Thumb and Satisfaction.
If you are heading to a specific spot, why not add a song about it such as California Dreamin' by the Beach Boys, New York, New York by Frank Sinatra or even Love Shack by the B-52s can work. I'm sure almost any great destination has a song made about it. Just give it some thought.
I would next add some Van Halen. Songs like Runnin' With the Devil, Dancin' in the Streets, Everybody Wants Some, Dance the Night Away and Jamie is Cryin'. Van Halen has a lot of upbeat classic songs that everyone loves. What are your favorites?
Lynyrd Skynyrd's Free Bird and Sweet Home Alabama are perfect road trip songs.
Be sure to add Bruce Springsteen's Born to Run, Thunder Road and Born in the USA.
WhiteSnake's Here I Go Again, Is This Love and Still of the Love are awesome songs to add to your list.
Another great fun band to listen to is ABBA. Add your favorites like Dancing Queen, Voulez-Vous, Mamma Mia, Honey Honey, Waterloo and Take a Chance on me. Choose each one that is upbeat and dismiss any slow or depressing song.
Why not add a few Cheryl Crow songs like All I wanna do, Crash and burn, Everyday is a winding road, Leaving Las Vegas, and Mississippi. They are each great road songs.
I also enjoy a few wild and crazy Melissa Etheridge songs such as Like the way I do and I'm the Only One. Those songs can get your heart beating and motivate your gang.
What about the Go-go's, with Our lips are sealed and Vacation. Remember these are all definitely stay awake and sing-along type songs.
A few Stray Cats recommendations include Built for speed, Rev it up and go and Rock this town. These are fun and well-known.
Depending on the music you like seek more music from the artists you most enjoy. Check out songs from Madonna, Meatloaf, John Cougar Mellencamp, Tom Petty, Prince, Queen, Fleetwood Mac and Jimi Hendrix.
Choose some fun upbeat songs and you will find yourself and those you are with singing throughout the trip. Drive safely.
