Road Trip: Visiting with My Aunt

We had a wonderful time visiting with my Great Aunt in South Carolina. Despite the fact that she will be turning 90 years young in May, Aunt Jerry is in terrific health and has a bundle of energy. The weather in South Carolina was sunny and hot during our visit. However, we were very comfortable because the humidity was very low and a pleasant breeze was blowing.

Aunt Jerry has more energy than some people that are half her age. We spent an afternoon browsing and shopping at the sidewalk shops in her town. I enjoyed visiting with a friend of Aunt Jerry's who owns an antique shop. He is going to refinish some antique furniture for my Mom. Always a bargain shopper, we enjoyed ourselves at a nearby thrift store too. There were too many treasures to choose from! We left the thrift store empty handed.

By the time we returned to Aunt Jerry's house, everyone was very hungry. Aunt Jerry fixed a delicious variety of food for dinner. The mouth-watering smorgasbord of food was big enough to feed an army! Our main course was a delicious chicken casserole. Southerners are well known for being wonderful cooks. Aunt Jerry is no exception. I have always thought that delicious food and terrific company are essential ingredients for an excellent meal.

Our trip to South Carolina to visit Aunt Jerry was a joy and a much needed break from our regular daily routine. I was so thankful that we were able to spend some time with Aunt Jerry. The vacation and spending time with Aunt Jerry was very special. I treasure spending time with her and love hearing from her often. I am looking forward to seeing Aunt Jerry again very soon!
