Road's End Organics Cheddar Style Shells & Chreese: Product Information and Review
Organic, Vegan Pasta and Cheese that is Cholesterol Free and High in Fiber
Road's End Organics Shells & Chreese Product Information and Nutrition
Road's End Organics Shells & Chreese is organic, soy-free, nut-free, vegan, trans fat-free and cholesterol free. This macaroni and cheese-type dish is also high in fiber, vitamin B12, iron and folate. There are two servings per box and each serving (before preparing with milk product) has 320 calories, 1 gram of fat, 390mg of sodium, 62 carbs, 7 grams of dietary fiber, 5 grams of sugar, 14 grams of protein, 15% of the daily recommended amount of iron, 25% of the daily recommended amount of Vitamin B12 and 15% of the daily recommended amount of folate.
Road's End Organics Shells & Chreese are definitely healthier than their non-vegan counterparts and would work well for someone transitioning to a vegan, vegetarian or otherwise healthier eating plan.
Road's End Organics Shells & Chreese Taste and Texture
Road's End Organics Shells & Chreese have a great texture and are not at all gritty - like some powdered cheese alternatives can be. The pasta shells cook up nicely and I had no trouble mixing in the powdered mix. I added a little vegan butter for a smoother texture, but I really think it would have been fine without it as well.
As for taste, well, let me put it this way - my partner and I bought two boxes so that we could give it a try. We split a box between us last night and have decided to buy 10 boxes next time we go grocery shopping. It really is that good. I couldn't get enough of it and can't wait to have it again. Now, I've been a vegetarian for over 20 years and vegan for the last several years, so I couldn't tell you whether or not it tastes like those popular non-vegan shells and cheese products, but that's why I enlist my partner to help me with these reviews. He has only been vegan a few months and was a big fan of those non-vegan macaroni and cheese boxes. So, if my opinion isn't enough, you can take his word for it - he says that Road's End Organics Shells & Chreese does not taste like the big name non-vegan versions (it's better!) and he absolutely loves it.
Road's End Organics Shells & Chreese Overall Review
Road's End Organics Shells & Chreese are super easy to prepare and less than $2.00 a box (a plus for any organic, vegan meal!). I absolutely love the flavor and highly recommend that anyone looking for a healthier alternative for you or your kids gives this one a try!
Road's End Organics Shells & Chreese will be a mainstay in my cupboard for years to come and I highly recommend that you get some for your pantry as well!
